Physiotherapy & Osteopathic Manipulations
Carole Falconer MCSP, SRP, is a bilingual physiotherapist, owner and founder of Sotogrande Physiotherapy. A graduate from Newcastle University in 1983, Carole has worked as a hands on physiotherapist around the world since. Carole was one of the first women in Rugby, serving as physiotherapist to several professional league teams in the 1980s. She also worked at Stoke Mandeville Hospital before being offered a sports injury and spinal injury position in Canada. After working in Vancouver and Toronto, she returned to the UK to set up a sports clinic for BUPA in northern England. Carole later moved to Sotogrande, Spain, where she started up Sotogrande Physiotherapy, now located in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro. After 30 years in practice, Carole has vast experience as a general and sports physical therapist.
Carole is also a trained Bobath technician, a method which rehabilitates stroke patients. Furthermore she trained in cyriax osteopathic manipulation with James Cyriax himself at St Thomas Hospital, London. She is a hands on manual therapist using Maitland mobilisation, cyriax manipulation and McKenzie exercise regime. In addition, Carole uses Lymphatic drainage massage techniques and provides treatment using specialized electrical, ultrasonic and magnetic therapies to help restore lymphatic flow after surgery or injury. For muscular contractures and spasms, Carole also uses Deep Trigger Point techniques.
